ROSE WAY INDUSTRIAL PARK

WOODLAND, Washington

The project consisted of installing a dewatering system to facilitate the sanitary sewer and detention pond for a 12-acre industrial park.

THE CHALLENGE

Lowering groundwater 14’ below ground surface for the proposed excavation of a treatment detention pond 302’ x 105’ and 13’-18’ below ground surface for 830 lineal feet of 12” sanitary sewer line. The discharge water from the system had to be limited to no more than 800 gpm so the adjacent properties and ponds would not flood.

THE SOLUTION

Griffin installed 28 deep wells approximately 60 ft. on center for the sanitary sewer and about 50 ft. on center surrounding all but the east side of the detention pond to a depth of 40 ft. During the progression of the project select wells were turned on and off thus lowering the groundwater for their excavation while limiting the amount of water that was being discharged.

GRIFFIN DIFFERENCE

Partnering with our client early in the project ensured that the dewatering system was designed and installed to meet the discharge requirement to mitigate the flooding of adjacent properties. This also ensured the successful installation of the detention pond and sanitary sewer line.
