Huntersville, North Carolina
Griffin provided a turn-key solution and completed all dewatering permitting, design, submittal and installation.
THE CHALLENGE
Highly stratified soils and underlying saprolite, silts, and clay caused difficult dewatering conditions and the risk of groundwater infiltration into the planned excavation.
THE SOLUTION
Griffin designed and installed an eductor dewatering system to lower ground water to 55 ft. below grade. Single pipe eductors were drilled and completed to 60 ft. below grade to ensure groundwater levels would be below the total depth of the excavation. The dewatering system produced approximately 65-90 gpm and lowered the groundwater elevation to allow for a successful project with limited sumping.
GRIFFIN DIFFERENCE
Griffin provided a turn-key solution and completed all dewatering permitting, design, submittal and installation. Griffin’s eductor system designed and the difficult dewatering conditions at the site. Eductors were drilled up to 60 ft. below the surface elevation to lower groundwater to 5 ft. below the bottom of the excavation. The eductor system pumped at 65-90 gpm and dewatered the site to meet an aggressive construction schedule.
