Located in the heart of Somerset County, a housing development project required a turn-key dewatering solution.
THE CHALLENGE
The project location borders the Raritan River and an NJ Transit railroad. The high-profile location, with high pedestrian and vehicular traffic, plus high-powered utilities along the perimeter – made dewatering a challenge.
THE SOLUTION
Griffin utilized groundwater modeling data to create a custom dewatering solution based on the unique site requirements. Griffin used the data to design a combination wellpoint and sump pump dewatering system. Griffin designed and installed a 640lf perimeter wellpoint dewatering system to dewater the excavation during construction. The installed system successfully achieved the required drawdowns.
