Dewater for construction of the facility foundation and the parking garage.
THE CHALLENGE
Part of the main building foundation had been excavated prior to installing a dewatering system and the site was not level in areas. In addition, we had to work around the existing utilities. We were able to install the system with track punch method and dewater the main foundation. We remobilized 6 months later to install a perimeter dewatering system for the parking garage foundation. We again had to work around existing utilities and needed to keep a large gap in the system for trucks to enter and exit.
THE SOLUTION
We installed approximately 1,000 LF of wellpoint system around the perimeter of the main facility and approximately 900 LF of wellpoint system around the perimeter of the parking garage. We closed the spacing on the parking garage wellpoints to ensure we completed drawn down for the deep excavations near the large opening within the system.
