This project consisted of repairing an existing 48-inch diameter wastewater line as part of the Greenwood Emergency Wastewater Main Repair.
THE CHALLENGE
Lowering groundwater 25 ft. below ground surface was needed for an excavation of approximately 120 ft. x 15 ft. The existing 48-inch wastewater line was under TX State Highway 358 with limited overhead clearance to install the dewatering system.
THE SOLUTION
An eductor dewatering system approximately 120 ft. long was installed parallel to one side of the existing line. Griffin installed 15 eductors at the approximate spacing of 10 ft. to a depth of 45 ft. In addition, we provided one operating and one standby eductor pump to eliminate the risk of system downtime.

GRIFFIN DIFFERENCE
Griffin installed the eductor wells utilized a low-clearance drill rig capable of drilling under limited height conditions. In addition, the eductor system’s unique ability to put a vacuum on the soil at much greater depths than a standard wellpoint provided dewatering and stabilization for the deep excavation.
